The Tata Group is reported to be in the process of finalizing plans for setting up a cutting-edge research and development centre in the UK. This global R&D hub will serve multiple Tata companies, including Tata Motors, INCAT, Corus, Tata Chemicals and even Jaguar and Land Rover.
Tata Motors already have their European Technical Centre, which is based in Warwick University and which was involved with designing the Nano. But Tata wants to move all R&D operations to a central, world-class facility which can accommodate all group companies’ research and development requirements.
The location, investment and other details regarding the new Tata R&D centre are likely to be finalized in a few weeks.
