With sales of two lakh units in 36 months, the Swift is now India's fastest selling car
Launched three years ago, the Maruti Suzuki Swift has crossed a new milestone in sales – 200,000 units – and it’s now become the fastest selling car in India. The Swift, which went on sale in May 2005, sold 61,200 units in its very first year. And sales only became stronger with the introduction of the Swift diesel variant, which was launched in January 2007. At present, the ratio of petrol to diesel Swift production is 40:60.
Maruti registered sales of 9,490 units of the Swift during April 2008, the highest sale in a single month.
