Oil India signs agreement with Geofizyka Torun for locating hydrocarbon deposits in Rajasthan



Oil India and Geofizyka Torun will look for hydrocarbon deposits in Rajasthan...

In partnership with the Poland-based Geofizyka Torun, Oil India will invest about Rs 100 crore in attempting to locate hydrocarbon deposits in Rajasthan.

An oil exploration and production company, Oil India has signed an agreement with Geofizyka Torun to carry out a 3D seismic survey, which would be aimed at locating hydrocarbon deposits in Rajasthan, particularly in the Bikaner-Nagaur region. The project would be based in an area of about 1,600sq.km in the Bikaner-Nagaur region.

Geofizyka Torun is a provider of integrated geophysical services to the petroleum and oil exploration industry. The Deputy Economy Minister of Poland, Adam Szejnfeld is leading a business delegation to India to discuss investment opportunities in the sectors of energy, oil and gas. Trade between India and Poland in 2006-2007 was to the tune of US$560 million.
