The new Audi A5 Sportback actually looks pretty good, unlike some other crossovers we've seen recently. We also expect Audi to launch this car in India by end-2009
Perhaps taking a cue from the recently unveiled BMW 5 Series Grand Turismo, Audi is also doing a coupe-saloon-estate crossover – the new A5 Sportback. Thankfully, though, the Audi vehicle seems vastly prettier than the gawky, awkward BMW…
According to a press release from Audi, ‘The A5 Sportback combines the best of different automotive worlds. It is as emotional and elegant as a coupe, as comfortable as a saloon, and as practical as an Avant. The Sportback joins the Coupé and Cabriolet as the third member of the A5 model family, and at the same time, creates a new segment.’
The Audi A5 Sportback will be available with a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines, Quattro all-wheel-drive, adaptive suspension and the fuel saving stop-start system. We expect Audi to add the A5 Sportback to its India line-up by the end of this year.
