Ducati sets up shop in China
Italian sportsbike manufacturer, Ducati, which came to India last year, has now also set up shop in China. Gabriele Del Torchio (President - Ducati Motor Holding) and Mirko Bordiga (CEO - Ducati Asia Pacific) were recently in Shanghai for the inauguration of Ducati’s first showroom in China.
While China is the world’s largest market for two-wheelers, most of those two-wheelers are small commuters rather than sportsbikes, cruisers or long-distance tourers. However, Ducati believes the demand for bigger, more powerful and sportier bikes will grow in China over the next few years.
Ducati bikes are now sold in around 80 countries and the Italian company believes that its entry into the Chinese market is a great opportunity for Ducati, given China’s strong economic growth in recent times.
