Renault Fluence to go on sale in November this year, might come to India by 2010-11

The new Renault Fluence looks surprisingly anonymous...

The new Renault Fluence sedan is all set to go on sale in Turkey, Russia, Australia, the Middle East and some parts of Europe in November this year. Later, this car will be introduced in more than 80 countries, probably including India.

To be built at the Oyak-Renault plant in Bursa, Turkey, the Fluence is a C-segment family saloon and will compete against the likes of the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Skoda Laura and Volkswagen Jetta. Depending on the market, the Fluence will be offered with a range of diesel and petrol engines, and CVT, manual and automatic transmissions.

Developed by a team of engineers from Nissan and Renault, the Fluence comes with all the features you’d expect to find in a C-segment car. However, in terms of its styling, we must say the car looks very ordinary. The Fluence will be up against some very capable competition from Japan, Europe and Korea and it doesn’t seem to have any feature – in terms of either the styling, technology, choice of engines/transmissions or anything else – that would really set it apart from the competition.

Renault, which is doing quite poorly in India with the Logan, might possibly launch the Fluence here by 2010-11. However, whether the Fluence can really take on the might of the Corolla and Civic remains to be seen. If it was our money, we wouldn’t put any of it on this new Renault…

In the meanwhile, Renault also seems to be heading for some serious trouble in Russia. See here

Can the Fluence take on cars like the Corolla and Civic? Hmmm...

This car will be definately popular in Russia like its predecessor Megane. People in Russia trust Renault as its Logan is the most popular foreign make car in Russia
