The Chevy Volt will go head to head against cars like the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight by the end of this year or early next year...
Fritz Henderson, CEO - General Motors, recently reiterated that the company will definitely launch its much-awaited hybrid, the Chevrolet Volt, by end-2010 or early-2011. He said the car will definitely go into production by November/December 2010.
GM, which is now looking at ways of increasing market share in the US (currently at 19.7%), is also committed to improving the build quality of its cars. In India, GM recently launched its new sedan – the Cruze – which seems to be doing reasonably well already. Next up is the Beat hatchback, which is coming in January 2010. Later in 2010, GMI may also launch some minivans from its Chinese partner SAIC-Wuling’s stable in the Indian market.
