Renault EVs to be made available for test drives in Denmark
French car manufacturer, Renault, expects electric vehicles (EVs) to account for 10% of the world market for cars by 2020. The Renault-Nissan Alliance is investing four billion euros (almost Rs 28,000 crore) in its zero-emissions programme and a team of two-thousand people at the two companies is working on new electric vehicles.
In order to reiterate its commitment to production-ready EVs, Renault has decided to make some of its EV prototypes available for test drives to accredited attendees of the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, later this month. The EV prototypes include the lithium-ion battery-powered Fluence Z.E. and Kangoo Van Z.E., production versions of which will be launched in 2011.
