Volkswagen Beetle launched in India, priced at Rs 20.45 lakh
Volkswagen has launched the Beetle in India. The car, imported from Mexico as a CBU, has been priced at a rather outlandish Rs 20.45 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
The ‘new’ Beetle launched in India was first launched worldwide in 1998, and has since then seem some minor modifications and various special edition models. The car is now an aging interpretation of the original classic that was developed in Germany back in the 1940s.
Volkswagen is said to have 150 confirmed bookings for the Beetle in India. The car is fitted with a 2.0-litre, 114bhp, four-cylinder petrol engine and a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Volkswagen also announced the launch of its Touareg SUV, which is fitted with a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 and which gets a price tag of Rs 51.84 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
