Volkswagen is said to have 150 confirmed bookings for the Beetle in India. The car is fitted with a 2.0-litre, 114bhp, four-cylinder petrol engine and a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Volkswagen also announced the launch of its Touareg SUV, which is fitted with a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 and which gets a price tag of Rs 51.84 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
