Honda has unveiled the all-new Vision, its next generation ‘smart global scooter,’ which is fitted with a single-cylinder SOHC fuel-injected 110cc four-stroke engine that delivers as much as 52km/l in terms of fuel efficiency. The scooter also features a ‘combined braking system’ (CBS), which automatically activates brakes on both wheels even when the rider uses controls only for brakes on any one wheel. According to Honda, CBS provides a significant boost to the safety factor.

Other notable features on the Honda Vision, which is likely to be launched in India by the end of this year, include ample storage space under the seat, a 5.5-litre fuel tank, and a stiff yet lightweight steel tube chassis that keeps the Vision’s kerb weight down to a reasonable 102 kilos. Also, the scooter’s telescopic fork and offset single rear shock have been optimised to handle the kind of rough roads you’d find in India and many other countries.

Honda claims that this scooter will offer high levels of build quality at very reasonable price. We believe HMSI is likely to pull the Aviator from its India line-up by the end of this year, and launch the Vision as a replacement for the Aviator. Stay tuned for more news on this front.
