On one hand, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is preparing to launch the CBR1000RR superbike in the Indian market. But at the other end of the spectrum, it’s also not ready to let go of 100cc commuter bikes. The company is actually preparing to launch its first 100cc motorcycle for the Indian market, in 2009.
HMSI’s 100cc motorcycle might actually be fuel-injected, ditching the age-old carburetor in order to get maximum fuel efficiency. The company is also likely to launch a new gearless scooter by the end of this fiscal, in order to take on the competition – 125cc scooters like the Suzuki Access and the Kinetic Flyte have stolen some of the Honda Activa’s thunder in recent months.
